This past weekend, Atlanta was alive with energy, elegance, and empowerment as The Original Sundresses & Seersuckers® returned for its fourteenth year. Hosted by Commitment to Excellence, Inc. (CTE), the multi-day experience welcomed over 15,000 Black professionals from across the country and transformed the city into a vibrant landscape of culture, fashion, music, and philanthropy. More than just a party, Sundresses & Seersuckers® once again proved it’s a celebration with purpose—raising critical funds to support youth mentorship and education through the Black Rhinos Mentoring Program and the CTE Scholarship Fund.
From the moment the weekend kicked off, there was a shared sense of anticipation in the air. Thursday’s welcome event at Suite Lounge set the tone with familiar faces and new connections gathered in a stylish, intimate space. As guests arrived in their best summer looks, it became clear that the weekend was about more than just what people wore—it was about who they were showing up for.
Friday expanded the impact with a full day of experiences at the Hyatt Regency. The Marketplace brought together a curated group of Black-owned vendors and entrepreneurs, creating a dynamic space where commerce and culture converged. From apparel and skincare to art and lifestyle brands, guests were able to support local businesses in between events. As day turned to evening, The PreVue offered a breezy, relaxed lounge vibe, followed by The PreQuel—an elevated social at Southern Exchange that blended music, fashion, and ambiance into one unforgettable night.
Saturday, the signature day of the weekend, offered a perfect balance of insight and excitement. The day began with a thought-provoking health and wellness panel, “Ask the Divine 9 Doctors,” featuring medical professionals from historically Black Greek-letter organizations. The discussion addressed everything from preventative care to mental health awareness and served as a powerful reminder that events like this can—and should—create space for education and empowerment.
Later that day, all roads led to The Main Event at Home Depot Backyard. The scene was stunning: thousands of guests in vibrant sundresses and crisp seersucker suits gathering under the Atlanta skyline to celebrate life, legacy, and culture. With DJs spinning the perfect summer soundtrack, live performances that had the crowd moving, and an open layout designed for connection and fun, the atmosphere was electric. Whether posing for red carpet photos, dancing with friends, or savoring craft cocktails and curated bites, attendees experienced a full sensory celebration. The night continued back at the Hyatt for The AfterGroove, a high-energy afterparty that kept the rhythm alive well into the early hours.
By Sunday, it was hard to believe the weekend was coming to a close. The Day Party Send-Off at Suite Lounge gave guests one last opportunity to reflect, relax, and revel in the experience. Beneath the sunshine and soulful sounds, conversations flowed about not just how good the weekend felt, but how good it did.
And that’s what sets Sundresses & Seersuckers® apart. While it dazzles with fashion and captivates with entertainment, the true heart of the weekend is its mission. Every ticket sold and every partnership secured fuels mentorship and educational support for the next generation of Black leaders. The Black Rhinos Mentoring Program, one of the main beneficiaries of the event, continues to provide young Black males with year-round guidance, leadership development, and life skills. The CTE Scholarship Fund ensures that high school seniors with academic excellence and a commitment to service receive the financial support they need to thrive in college.
The impact of this weekend stretches far beyond the venue walls. It plants seeds of progress and pours into a legacy of excellence that will echo throughout communities for years to come. The commitment to creating joyful yet purposeful spaces is why this event continues to grow, year after year.
“Each year, we’re blown away by the love and energy that surrounds Sundresses & Seersuckers,” said organizers from Commitment to Excellence, Inc. “It’s proof that when culture, community, and purpose come together, we can create something truly powerful.”
Now that the music has faded and the final photos have been posted, one thing remains clear: Sundresses & Seersuckers® XIV was more than a moment—it was a movement. And if this past weekend is any indication, Sundresses & Seersuckers® XV is poised to be even bigger, bolder, and more impactful.
For those who couldn’t attend, consider this your notice. This is more than just an event. It’s a call to show up, dress up, and give back. So, dust off your seersucker and circle the date. The countdown to next year has already begun.
