Purpose on the Green: Steve Harvey Charity Golf Classic Drives Impact in Stockbridge

Golf, giving back, and community alignment came together in a meaningful way as the annual Steve Harvey Charity Golf Classic took over Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Stockbridge, Georgia. The invite-only event brought out a concentrated mix of influence and intention. It wasn’t just a day on the course. It functioned as a working model of how visibility, relationships, and capital can be directed toward long-term impact.

Hosted by the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation and led by Steve Harvey, the tournament continues to serve as one of the foundation’s primary fundraising and awareness platforms. Now marking 18 years of consistent programming, the foundation has built a track record centered on mentorship, leadership development, and structured opportunities for young people across the country.

The setting at Eagle’s Landing Country Club provided the right backdrop. Private, polished, and focused. But what defined the day wasn’t the course. It was the alignment of the people on it. From the first tee to the final hole, the energy remained consistent. Conversations were intentional, participation was active, and the purpose stayed clear.

A wide range of recognizable names were present, not as passive attendees, but as contributors to the event’s mission. Chris Tucker returned once again, reinforcing a pattern of consistent involvement. Alongside him were figures like Josh Powell, Penny Hardaway, Keion Henderson, Ronnie DeVoe, Isaac Carree, and Julius Erving. Their presence added visibility, but more importantly, reinforced credibility and a shared commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives.

The event also drew participation from athletes affiliated with the NBA Legends Association and the NFL Players Association, further strengthening the connection between sports, philanthropy, and community investment. Additional leaders across business, media, and civic spaces moved throughout the course, creating an environment where networking stayed aligned with purpose.

That alignment is central to how the foundation operates. Programs under the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation are designed to go beyond exposure. They focus on building discipline, confidence, and decision-making skills that translate into real outcomes. The foundation recently concluded its annual girls camp, continuing its focus on leadership and development for young women, and is now preparing for its mentoring program for young men, one of its most established initiatives.

From a structural standpoint, the Golf Classic plays a critical role in sustaining those programs. Proceeds from the event directly fund year-round initiatives, including mentorship camps, educational enrichment, financial literacy training, college and career readiness, and community outreach addressing issues like food insecurity and economic access.

Corporate participation remains a key driver of that impact. This year’s event included support from major partners such as Lowe’s, Coca-Cola, Visa Inc., Georgia Power, and Morgan Stanley. Their involvement reflected a broader commitment to investing in scalable youth development efforts. Community and organizational partners including Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead, 100 Black Men of America, Next Step Education Foundation, and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. also contributed to the event’s overall reach and effectiveness.

According to Executive Director Hannah Cassimere, the focus of the event remains direct. It is not about visibility alone. It is about outcomes. The Golf Classic functions as both a funding mechanism and a point of alignment where partners, supporters, and participants can engage with the mission in a tangible way.

Throughout the day, that alignment was visible in the interactions taking place across the course. Conversations centered on mentorship strategies, program expansion, and ways to extend reach into underserved communities. Participants were not just attending. They were engaging with the work behind the event.

That level of engagement matters. It separates events that generate attention from those that generate measurable impact. The Steve Harvey Charity Golf Classic continues to operate in the latter category because it connects visibility to action.

For Steve Harvey, the long-term perspective remains the priority. The real measure of success is not limited to a single day or a single event. It is reflected in the outcomes tied to the programs these funds support. Young people gaining access to education, building careers, and returning to support others. That cycle is where the foundation’s work shows its value.

Chris Tucker’s continued presence reflects that same understanding. His support is tied to the consistency of the mission and the results it produces over time. That kind of ongoing involvement strengthens the foundation’s ability to expand and sustain its programs.

By the close of the tournament, the outcome was clear. The Golf Classic once again delivered on its purpose. It created space for influence to be directed toward impact. It brought together a network of individuals and organizations aligned around youth development. And it generated the resources needed to continue that work at scale.

Events like this do not rely on a single moment. Their value builds over time. Each year adds momentum, expands reach, and deepens impact.

The Steve Harvey Charity Golf Classic continues to operate with that long-term focus. It is not just a gathering. It is a structured effort to support the next generation with intention, consistency, and measurable results.
