Roodgine Bray’s journey from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to becoming a litigation partner and one of Metro Atlanta’s most powerful women is a testament to resilience, purpose, and unwavering dedication to justice. Inspired by the strength of her community and family, Roodgine knew from an early age that her calling was to be a voice for the voiceless. That calling led her to pursue a career in law, where advocacy could be transformed into action and lasting impact.

With a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Clayton State University and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Roodgine immersed herself in opportunities to sharpen her legal expertise and leadership skills. Her rise within Davis Bozeman Johnson Law, culminating in her role as Partner and leader of the Personal Injury Litigation Team, reflects not only her legal acumen but also her commitment to leaving every space better than she found it.

Navigating the legal profession as a Black woman presented challenges—implicit biases, underrepresentation, and the constant need to prove her worth. Yet, Roodgine met these obstacles head-on by building a strong support network, seeking mentorship, and creating platforms for others to thrive. Co-founding the Haitian American Lawyers Association of Georgia (HALAGA) was a pivotal step in ensuring that Haitian and Haitian-American attorneys had a space for advancement and community. Her leadership within organizations like the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA) and the American Association for Justice (AAJ) further solidified her influence, as she worked tirelessly to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal field.

Mentorship has been a cornerstone of Roodgine’s success, and she is passionate about paying it forward. As President of GABWA, she champions initiatives like the Woman-to-Woman (W2W) program, ensuring that Black women attorneys receive the guidance, resources, and encouragement they need to excel. For Roodgine, mentorship is more than support—it’s a responsibility to lift as she climbs and to create lasting change within the profession.

Balancing her demanding career with personal fulfillment, Roodgine approaches life with intentionality. She recognizes that true balance comes from prioritizing what matters most—whether it’s leading in the courtroom, engaging in community service, or spending quality time with her husband and daughters. Self-care, clear boundaries, and a strong village are essential to her ability to lead with excellence both professionally and personally.

Roodgine’s impact extends far beyond Metro Atlanta. Through her work with GABWA and its Foundation, she has helped provide scholarships, mentorship, and pro bono services that uplift communities across Georgia. Programs like Sister2Sister, the Civil Pro Bono Wills Project, and the Community Health Fair reflect her dedication to service and empowerment.

Being named Partner and leading GABWA were defining moments that shaped Roodgine’s leadership style—rooted in empowerment, inclusivity, and collaboration. She understands that true leadership is not about titles but about creating opportunities for others, fostering environments where diverse talents can thrive, and ensuring that the doors she walks through remain open for those who follow.
